The idea of recess is something that we abandon as a formal part of our day at around grade six. The ringing bell signalling to drop your pencils, close your books, and redirect your focus to play and imagination. Of course we take breaks to fill up on coffee, live for the weekend and take annual vacations, but those 5 to 15 minute breaks every 3 hours or so to cleanse our minds of the intense focus of our daily routines through a complete mental redirection still remains invaluable.
I started this blog for two reasons. The first is to keep my business services as an Art Consultant and Content Curator in the minds of both potential and established clients. More importantly though, I want to provide a short visual recess for people to easily consume some culture, expand normal sensory perceptions, and hopefully encourage people to challenge their preconceived notions of what they like, dislike and think they know about creativity.
And how does that relate to living 11? These days striving for a life on a scale of 10 is passé. We are entering the time of enlightenment, where purpose, aesthetics and creativity are valued more than ever. We are returning to deep thought. We are living life after 10… we are now Living 11.
I invite you to join my news feed and receive visual recess from time to time. Through beauty, intellect, invention and adventure, inspiration awaits us all, whether you are an artist or an accountant. That is my promise!
